The company of the good supports steadiness. The company of the wicked weakens it. The seeker must therefore guard association with the same seriousness as conduct and speech.
The practical movement here is clear selection. Basavanna asks the seeker to hold the company of Kudalasangama’s Sharanas and leave what brings ruin.
