Summary
In this vachana, Basavanna instructs the seeker to keep close the company of the good and to keep far from the company of the wicked.

Good company protects direction. Wicked company disturbs it. The company of the inwardly impure carries poison into the field of practice.
The practical movement here is discernment in association. Basavanna asks the seeker to guard nearness itself before Kudalasangama Deva.

This vachana should be read as a warning about spiritual influence. Basavanna does not speak of association casually. He treats company as something that can either preserve the path or poison it from within.
